CREATIVE BUBBLE

Last weekend I spend walking around in Antwerp with one of my best friends. Unfortunately I didn't take a lot of pictures but I had a lot of fun, shopping (Urban Outfitters on the pictures!), drinking coffee, eating amazing chocolate and singing at a karaoke bar. Got this wonderful skirt at Forever 21, it was love at first sight. Lately I start to collect more and more items from Forever 21, they have some really cool clothes for low prices. The week off was actually lovely, had some time to meet up with friends and did a lot of driving, because I finally passed for my driver's license! (ps. welcome in my room! this is where all my crazy ideas come into existance and where I create everything, also the dress on the fitting doll!)

COLOURS

Normally I like to wear a lot of black and grey, but this dress is an exception. Especially with the grey and sober weather today, this is the perfect dress to ignore the rain. It makes me so happy and cheerful, and I adore the flowers and the different colours in the print. I got it at Topshop last summer and although it is more a summer dress, I just like to wear it all year round now.

This week is actually rather quiet, mainly worked on school assignments and went to dinner with two lovely friends in the city on Valentine's Day at Wagamama. Next week is my last week before a short holiday break for a week and I am really excited for that, because I am going to visit Antwerp and maybe even Paris too, who knows!

SOMEWHERE

A night out in town.

Last week I officially completed the first half year of school, which means I am starting with the new semester tomorrow! I am really exicted, because I can finally start with my own course, Fashion & Design, but on the other hand, I am going to miss my classmates so much. The last half year was a lot of fun, I met a bunch of lovely people and they became some of my best friends. The next semester is in our original mentor classes and I am lucky to have another amazing class, but some of my closest friends unfortunately are in other classes now.

Although, I am starting with some great subjects, like pattern drawing, technical and model drawing, fabrics research and sewing technique. And I am going to start making my own small collection, so that should be really exciting! Having the best time at school, it's slowly starting to hit in, my dream comes closer and closer every semester.

Hello, hello, lovely readers,

Here a brand new outfit. After the crazy busy times at school, I decided it was the time to give myself some presents in the form of some extremely reduced fashion items. Got this sweater, this necklace, some lovely brown boots and a gorgeous jacket with leather sleeves in the sale for half of the original price. Score! My last deadline for the first semester was on monday and I passed the assignement stylebook, thank god. In two weeks I have another big assessment, but hopefully that will go just fine, so I can start of fresh and energized with my second semester.

They always say, time flies when you are having fun and that sure counts for me ever since I started at Amsterdam Fashion Institute. The classes, the school, my friends, I am really enjoying myself and I know I have found the perfect place for me. Off now to do some serious 'cleaning out my closet' to make more room for the new stuff!

DECEMBER

Bonjour my lovely readers,

It's already halfway December and that not only means Christmas in a week, but also the end of a very hectic period for me. Deadlines for school, exams, lots of meetings, driving exam, name it. Thank god I passed everything school-wise, so I don't have to worry about any of those things doing the holiday break.

Next week there are only two days of school scheduled on my timetable and after wednesday, my break starts. More time to do some fun stuff, and most importantly, more time to blog. It is a bit quiet these days on here and I am planning to change that. After this first half year of fashion school I started discovering more and more about fashion and blogs and I really miss the days were I blogged almost 3 times a week.

Out now for Christmas tree shopping in town!

SUNDAY RAIN

This week was heaven compared to last week. Last monday was the big day for my first assignement to be hand in and the fashion show for our prototypes (pictures are coming soon). Last weekend was a very stressful weekend with just a few hours of sleep to finish everything. Luckily everything worked out fine and I passed! The fashion show was a lot of fun and school in general is lovely, although it is also hard work, but my classmates, the lessons and just being around fashion all the time make it so much fun. Last few days I went out for dinner and drinks to celebrate the good marks for my assignement, met up with a few friends, did some serious shopping and I got a haircut!

Today there was a museum trip to Utrecht, to see the Iris van Herpen exhibition with my friend Loes. It was pretty cool, although unfortunately there weren't a lot dresses made by her and it was a bit small. The weather is not really making things any better this weekend either.

Tomorrow starts my next semester already, how time flies.

SCHOOL

Tomorrow starts my fourth week at Amsterdam Fashion Institute, how time flies!
School is a lot of fun and I am pretty sure it is the place for me, but it's also a lot of work. Still, my homework is pretty amazing, making dresses, drawing, making a fashion diary, collecting different types of fabric and more. Just being in Amsterdam and going to a fashion school there is a dream come true and I am looking forward to everything what this school will bring me in the future.

For now here is one of the outfits I choose for my fashion diary for one of my courses.

Today I stayed home from school to work on an application for AMFI, the school I would like to go to and just relax and have some 'me-time'. Also came up with this outfit, featuring lots of new items from Dubai and a short shopping trip with my mother the other day.

PRINTS

The new year is already full in motion, and for me the first few weeks were extremely busy and filled with all kind of different events. Birthday parties, school assignments, a new job, interview at a new art academy, driving lessons and much more. Luckily the next couple of weeks are a lot more quite and in a week I am going to visit Dubai with my family for a week, so there is time to relax now. Hope to get some more blogging done too, because I still love it and my blog.

Sweeter than heaven

Bonjour, bonjour, lovely readers!

I have been away for a couple of weeks filled with fun events. I went to Italy for two weeks with family and friends and we visited places like Florence, Luca and Sienna. I went to see the David by Michelangelo, which impressed me quite, it is a gorgeous sculpture. Last weekend I went to Lowlands with Mirthe, Iris and Odet, and I had the best time ever. Band like Yeasayer, The XX, Mumford and Sons, Jónsi, Broken Bells and Two Door Cinema Club played and we also went to the Silent Disco twice. I wish I was still there, although I was pretty tired and dead after three days of almost no sleep and a lot of partying. Pictures are coming soon, but for now I'll leave you with what I wore today.

Welcome to the jungle

Hola chicas,

Last week I ordered two rings at Ydeltuyt and they arrived three days ago. I really like them, they have some gorgeous stuff there. This morning I worked for three hours and returned home afterwards. I painted my nails in all the colours of the rainbow because I have so many lovely colours at the moment I want to use them all. My fave at the moment is Catrice 240 - Sold Out Forever, the mintgreen one on my right hand.

Somewhere in my messy room is my camera, but I really cannot find it now, so here are some crappy quality pictures from my nails, rings and outfit.
